Nov. 9 (Bloomberg) -- An Argentine judge has asked Supreme Court investigators to examine the assets of President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner and her husband, former President Nestor Kirchner, El Cronista reported.

The Buenos Aires newspaper cited Federal Judge Norberto Oyarbide as saying that he had asked the investigators to ascertain whether the development of the Kirchners’ wealth was normal.

In their 2008 tax declaration, the couple stated their assets had increased by 158 percent during the year, El Cronista added.
