Tenaris Says Pipe Demand Should Pick-up in 2010 (Update1)
By Carlos Manuel Rodriguez
May 7 (Bloomberg) -- Tenaris SA, the world’s biggest maker of seamless pipes used to extract oil and gas, said demand for pipes should pick-up at the beginning of 2010.
Chief Executive Officer Paolo Rocca made the comments today on a conference call with analysts.
Tenaris expects that oil projects in Mexico should keep “a gradual growing demand” for seamless pipes.
Petroleos Mexicanos, the state-owned oil company known as Pemex, doesn’t have any pipe inventories available “we are delivering to Pemex every 72 hours,” said Guillermo Vogel, a vice president of finance at Tenaris.
