Nov. 3 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Canadian trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and share prices are as of 5 p.m. in Toronto.
The Standard & Poor's/TSX Composite Index slipped 0.4 percent to 9,721.26.
Energy producers dropped after crude-oil futures slid more than $3 to $63.91 a barrel in New York. Suncor Energy Inc. (SU CN) fell 6.2 percent to C$27.17. Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (CNQ CN) lost 5.4 percent to C$57.51. EnCana Corp. (ECA CN) declined 4.5 percent to C$58.50.
Gold producers climbed along with the metal, which rose for the first time in three sessions in New York after the biggest monthly decline since March 1980 attracted buyers. Tanzanian Royalty Exploration Corp. (TNX CN) rose 13 percent to C$2.94. Red Back Mining Inc. (RBI CN) added 12 percent to C$5.31. European Goldfields Ltd. (EGU CN) gained 11 percent to C$1.68.
Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS CN) fell 2.9 percent to C$39.03. Canada's third-largest bank by assets was cut to ``neutral'' from ``buy'' by Sumit Malhotra at Merrill Lynch & Co. The Toronto-based analyst cut his earnings estimate for next year, saying in a note that loan growth may slow and credit losses may increase.
Domtar Corp. (UFS CN) fell the most in two years, losing 14 percent to C$2.58, the lowest price since at least 1983. The world's second-largest maker of office paper was cut to ``sell'' from ``neutral'' at Goldman Sachs Group Inc.
Sino-Forest Corp. (TRE CN) declined 5.6 percent to C$10.65 for its steepest drop since Oct. 6. The wood-products company with tree plantations in China was cut to ``neutral'' from ``outperform'' at Credit Suisse Group AG.
Uranium One Inc. (UUU CN) gained 42 percent to C$1.4 for its steepest climb since May 2003. Uranium prices snapped a six- week decline on increased interest from utilities and India's plans to place orders by the end of the year.
