May 21 (Bloomberg) -- Electrolux AB, Europe's largest appliance maker, recalled a line of Kenmore wall ovens after customers reported that accumulated gas in the units burst into flames when the door was opened.
The Stockholm-based company voluntarily recalled about 7,500 ovens after getting 16 reports of burned faces, singed hair and other incidents related to the defect, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said yesterday in a statement.
The ovens were made by the company's Frigidaire Canada subsidiary and sold at Sears Holding Corp. stores from September 2004 through October 2007, according to the statement.
``Sears is moving quickly to locate and notify customers,'' Electrolux spokesman Anders Edholm said in an interview. ``It was a flaw in the product design of this batch of ovens.''
