Nov. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Talisman Energy Inc. said it made an “encouraging” crude-oil discovery in Peru’s northern Amazon jungle.

Calgary-based Talisman aims to finish drilling a well and start another in Block 64 before deciding whether to develop the field, spokeswoman Phoebe Buckland said today in a telephone interview.
