Oct. 17 (Bloomberg) -- Indonesia’s domestic car sales may total 460,000 to 475,000 vehicles this year and are predicted to grow next year, PT Toyota Astra Motor’s marketing director Joko Trisanyoto said.

“In 2010, car sales are predicted to be higher, around 550,000 to 600,000, as economic conditions improve,” Trisanyoto told reporters late yesterday in Bandung, Indonesia.

Indonesia’s economic stability and a stronger rupiah support a forecast of 120,000 to 135,000 car sales in the fourth quarter this year, Trisanyoto said.

Toyota Astra is a unit of PT Astra International, Indonesia’s largest automotive retailer.
