Two Cardinals Fans Arrested After McNabb’s Lawn Is Vandalized

By Larry DiTore

Jan. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Two Arizona Cardinals fans were arrested on charges of vandalizing the lawn of Donovan McNabb’s offseason home in Chandler, Arizona.

Rex Michael Perkins, 37, and Ryan B. Hanlon, 28, face criminal damage charges after allegedly using diesel fuel to burn “Go Kurt,” “Go Cards,” and “I (heart) AZ” in the grass at the home of the Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback, Chandler police said in a news release.

Last week, before Arizona and quarterback Kurt Warner beat Philadelphia 32-25 in the National Football Conference championship game, the two men hung a Cardinals flag in a tree on McNabb’s property and left a cardboard box with the words “Go Cards” and “Beat Philly” in the driveway, the Associated Press reported. Perkins and Hudson had admitted to those pranks, the AP said.

McNabb left the flag flying and discovered the latest vandalism when he smelled the diesel fuel, the AP said.

The diesel fuel, which was used on Jan. 17 just after midnight, caused an estimated $2,000 in damage, police said. Perkins and Hanlon were arrested and later released.

The Cardinals advance to the Feb. 1 Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida, where they’ll face the Pittsburgh Steelers for the National Football League title.
