Yankees, Mets Will Play Split Doubleheader in Bronx, Queens

By Danielle Sessa

June 13 (Bloomberg) -- The New York Yankees and Mets will play a doubleheader in two weeks, with the first game in the Bronx and the second in Queens.

Major League Baseball scheduled a 2:05 p.m. game on June 27 at Yankee Stadium to make up the May 16 contest between the clubs that was rained out. The second series of the season between the cross town rivals will take place as scheduled at Shea Stadium. The starting time was moved to 8:10 p.m. from a 7:10 p.m. to allow teams time to travel between the two ballparks, baseball said in a statement.

It's the third time the Yankees and Mets have played one game in the Bronx and another game in Queens on the same day. The Yankees won both games in 2000 and in 2003.

The Mets took both games from the Yankees during their May series this year.
