By Bob Bensch
Feb. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Boston Celtics forward Wally Szczerbiak will undergo ankle surgery next week and miss the remainder of the National Basketball Association season.
Team doctor Brian McKeon will perform the surgery March 8 at New England Baptist Hospital, the Celtics said in a news release.
The 6-foot-7 Szczerbiak is averaging 15 points and 3.1 rebounds in 32 games this season.
He's missed 24 games, all but one due to ankle sprains, with his last action coming against Sacramento on Feb. 20.
