Bonds's Record 762nd Home Run Ball Sells for $376,612

April 12 (Bloomberg) -- Barry Bonds's record 762nd home run ball, which may be the last of his career, sold for $376,612 in an Internet auction.

An unidentified bidder won the ball after 13 days of bidding that started on March 31 and ended today, according to SCP Auctions. There were 13 bids for the ball that Bonds hit on Sept. 5 at Coors Field in Denver.

Bonds, who is facing federal charges for lying to a grand jury about steroid, hasn't signed with a Major League Baseball team this season. The former San Francisco Giants outfielder has pleaded not guilty.

The ball sold for about half as much as Bonds's 756th home run that broke Hank Aaron's record for the most career home runs. Fashion designer Marc Ecko paid $752,467 for the record-breaking ball in a September auction, branded it with an asterisk after online fan voting and pledged to give it to the Hall of Fame.

SCP Auctions had expected the bidding to approach $1 million.
