Johnson Leads Masters at One-Over, Woods Is Two Back (Update7)

By Michael Buteau

April 8 (Bloomberg) -- Zach Johnson, seeking his first major-tournament victory, holds a one-shot lead over Justin Rose near the end of the Masters Tournament.

Johnson, 31, is 1-over-par for the tournament after making six birdies and three bogeys in his final round of 69 at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. Rose made birdies at the 15th and 16th holes to move to 2-over.

Tiger Woods, the world's top-ranked golfer seeking his fifth Masters' title, is even-par for the day and 3-over for the tournament with three holes remaining. Rory Sabbatini and two- time U.S. Open winner Retief Goosen finished at 3-over 291.

There have been six lead changes during the final round, with the winds down and temperatures in the upper 50s.

Gusting winds and cold temperatures yesterday produced only one score below par 72: Goosen's 70. The third-round scoring average of 77.35 was the fifth-highest of all time. It also marked just the sixth time in the Masters' 71-year history that no player scored in the 60s in the third round.

Defending-champion Phil Mickelson, who began today four shots off the lead after a 1-over 73 yesterday, shot a 77 and finished at 11-over 299.
