Dec. 23 (Bloomberg) -- The New York Yankees are opening their new stadium the way they did their last one in 1923, charging 25 cents for bleacher seats and $1.10 to sit in the grandstand.

Full-season ticket holders for the April 3-4 exhibition games versus the Chicago Cubs will be given complimentary tickets, and individual ticket prices won’t exceed $50 for either game, the Major League Baseball team said in a news release.

“The balance of tickets will be sold first to our partial- plan holders, then to the general public, at vastly reduced rates compared to the regular season,” Yankees Chief Operating Officer Lonn Trost said in a statement.

The prices for the exhibitions will be the same as they were on April 18, 1923, the day the original Yankee Stadium opened across the street in the Bronx.

The Yankees won’t be so generous with regular-season ticket prices at the $1.3 billion new Yankee Stadium. The team will charge as much as $850,000 for one of its 47 luxury boxes and $2,500 for a seat behind home plate.

Bleacher seats will cost $12 for New York’s regular-season home opener April 16 against the Cleveland Indians.
