Eto’o Salvages Point for Inter Milan; Lyon, Marseille Draw 5-5

By Alex Duff

Nov. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Samuel Eto’o scored as Serie A leader Inter Milan rallied to a 1-1 home draw with Roma in Italian soccer. In France, Marseille’s Stephane M’Bia scored in injury time to earn a 5-5 draw at Lyon.

Inter, which won the title the past four seasons, had its lead cut to five points by Juventus, which won 5-2 at Atalanta two days ago. Thiago Motta and Alexandre Pato got AC Milan’s goals in a 2-1 win at Lazio.

M’Bia scored in injury time to deny Lyon first place in the French league. Lyon had scored twice in the last eight minutes to level to 4-4. Earlier, leader and defending champion Bordeaux lost 2-0 at Lille.

Real Madrid won 3-2 at Atletico Madrid two days ago to stay one point behind Spanish leader Barcelona, which beat visiting Real Mallorca 4-2. Seville defeated visiting Villarreal 3-2 in yesterday’s last game to retain third place.

In Germany, Bayer Leverkusen -- which beat Eintracht Frankfurt 4-0 on Nov. 6 -- leads by three points after its closest rivals Werder Bremen and Hamburg drew against Borussia Dortmund and Hannover, respectively.

Elsewhere, Bryan Ruiz scored as Twente beat third-placed Ajax 1-0 to stay top in the Netherlands. PSV Eindhoven downed Den Haag 5-1 to stay second and two points off the lead.
