June 17 (Bloomberg) -- StatoilHydro ASA, Norway’s biggest oil and gas producer, agreed to import liquefied natural gas cargoes from Qatar to supply a terminal in the U.S., Reuters said, citing spokeswoman Rannveig Stangeland.

The number of cargoes that will be delivered to the Cove Point terminal in Maryland in the U.S. depends on the competitiveness of natural gas prices in the U.S., according to the report. Statoil supplies LNG to Cove Point from its Arctic Snohvit LNG plant in Norway.
