Milford Haven Oil Terminals Close on Severe Weather (Update1)

By Bill Murray

March 10 (Bloomberg) -- Oil terminals at refineries operated by Chevron Corp. and Murphy Oil Corp. in Wales were shut because of severe weather that brought winds of up to 80 miles an hour and heavy rain to southern Britain.

All terminals along the Milford Haven waterway in southwestern Wales have ``suspended operations'' due to poor weather, Milford Haven Port Authority spokeswoman Mariam Moazzen said in an e-mail.

Chevron operates a 210,000 barrel-a-day refinery at Pembroke, Wales, while Murphy owns a 108,000 barrel-a-day plant across the waterway at Milford Haven. The U.K. Environment Agency issued seven severe flood warnings because conditions are expected to deteriorate later day.
