Shell Defers Planned Maintenance at Refinery in Louisiana
By Aaron Clark
Oct. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Europe's largest oil company, will defer planned maintenance at the Motiva refinery in Norco, Louisiana, to recover from a shutdown caused by hurricanes.
``The turnaround at the Motiva Norco refinery has been deferred,'' Kevin Thompson, a plant spokesman, said in an e-mail. The delay will help ``rebuild finished product inventories'' after disruptions to market supply from Hurricanes Gustav and Ike, he said.
